Privacy Policy

Allure respects the privacy of its clients, potential clients and all persons engaging with the company. Allure gain private information by means of information that we gather from individuals accessing Allure websites and social media platforms and other mechanisms where individuals share information with Allure including at presentation centres, phone calls or showings. Allure’s policy statement (the Allure “Policy”) sets out the privacy policies and practices for Allure and all its related companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, development projects and strata corporations (Allure, “Allure”) with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. Allure may update this policy may from time to time giving reasonable notice of the revised Policy (including by e-mail or by posting on the Allure website at allureventures.ca). Further, Allure may supplement or modify the policy by agreements entered into between Allure and an individual as may arise.

Personal information is any information about an identifiable individual, as defined under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of British Columbia and / or other applicable laws per the region.

2. Collection, Use and Disclosure Purposes

Allure interprets the term “Personal Information” in accordance with applicable law as referring to information that may be used to identify, contact, or locate a specific person. Except where otherwise required or permitted by law, Allure will inform individuals of the purposes for the collection, use or disclosure of the individual’s personal information, prior to collecting, using, or disclosing that personal information.

Allure collects information from customers and potential customers through various means including guest registration sign-up sheets, campaign registrations, web-form registrations, purchase and sale agreements and customer survey responses. The type of information collected will vary depending on the means through which an individual submits his/her personal information. The type of information collected may include an individual’s name, residential address, e-mail address, home phone number, occupation, employment status, age group, current residential ownership details, whether first time buyer, financial and credit information, real estate investment purposes and preferences, preferred marketing mediums and specific comments. For security reasons, Allure may also utilize video surveillance to monitor its premises from time to time.

Allure does not disclose Personal Information to third-parties other than service providers who process Personal Information on Allure’s behalf or as may be required by applicable law.

Allure does not regard Personal Information that has been anonymized or aggregated to prevent the identification of a specific individual to continue to be Personal Information.

Allure uses information collected from customers and potential customers to provide products or services, to respond to requests for information regarding Allure’s products and services, for input on preferred features for future developments, mailing contacts for Allure publications and newsletters, special events marketing and other marketing research activities, and for additional purposes that may be identified at or before the time that the information is collected. Allure also uses personal information from purchasers for accounting and transaction completion purposes. Allure may disclose personal information to legal, financial, and other professional advisors or in connection with the sale or reorganization of all or part of its business or operations.

Requirements for consent to collection, use, or disclosure of personal information vary depending on circumstances and on the type of personal information that is intended to be collected, used, or disclosed. In determining whether consent is required and, if so, which form of consent is appropriate, Allure will consider both the sensitivity of the personal information at issue and the purposes for which Allure will use the information. Consent may be express, implied (including through use of “opt-out” consent where appropriate) or deemed. For example, if an individual provides his/her mailing address and requests information regarding a particular product, consent to use the address to mail product information to the individual is implied.

On giving reasonable written notice to Allure, an individual may withdraw consent to the collection, use or disclosure of his or her personal information. Upon receipt of this withdrawal, Allure will notify the individual of the likely consequences of withdrawing his or her consent. Except where otherwise required or permitted by law, Allure will then stop collecting, using or disclosing the individual’s personal information.

Usage Information collected is used to compile overall statistics and is not recorded at an individual level. The statistics help us decide which products and services best serve our website visitors and other customers and for the maintenance and improvement of our Platforms.

The Usage Information Allure may access, collect, and/or monitor can include location data, such as geographic information regarding the location of the accessing device. Location data may help Allure understand where its platforms are being used. Location data, however, is only displayed and shared in accordance with the privacy settings in each user’s device or browser software. Allure also uses Google Analytics and other third-party analytics tools for tracking visitors and aggregating information about the traffic to Allure platforms.

3. Limits to the Collection of Personal Information

Except where required or permitted by law, Allure will limit the collection of personal information to that which is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is collected. Personal information will be collected by fair and lawful means.

4. Use, Disclosure and Retention

Allure will not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required or permitted by law. Once the information is no longer required to fulfill its intended purposes, and is no longer required or permitted to be retained for legal or business purposes, it will be destroyed, erased or made anonymous.

By “opting-in” the individual has given express consent to Allure sending advertisements, mail, emails or text messages through the information provided, promotional messages such as newsletters, announcements, press releases and event invitations regarding their current and future products and services.

By “opting-in” the individual consents to receiving calls or text messages by the selected means of contact by or on behalf of members of Allure at that number to discuss their current and future products and services.

Before a licensed realtor registers on behalf of his or her client, the licensed realtor must seek prior consent from their client of such registration including consent to Allure sending marketing materials regarding current and future products and services.

Allure may disclose certain personal information to third party service providers and to affiliated entities in order to carry out work on behalf of Allure. Prior to making this disclosure, Allure will take appropriate steps to ensure that such recipients safeguard the personal information and use the information only for authorized purposes.

Individuals may withdraw their consent at any time.

5. Accuracy

Allure will make reasonable efforts to ensure that any personal information collected by it, or on its behalf, is accurate and complete if the personal information is likely to be used by Allure to make a decision that affects the individual to whom the personal information relates or if the information is likely to be disclosed to a third party.

6. Security

Allure will protect personal information with security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Security safeguards are employed to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or disposal or similar risks. The nature of these safeguards will vary depending on the sensitivity of the personal information that has been collected. The methods of safeguards include:

  1. Physical security measures such as locked filing cabinets and areas
  2. Security clearances and limiting access on a “need to know” basis
  3. Technological measures such as the use of passwords

Allure will inform employees about Allure’s policies and procedures for protecting personal information and employees will be required to conform to Allure’s Privacy Policy.

7. Openness

Upon request, Allure will make information available about its personal information policies and practices, and its complaint process.

8. Individual Access

Upon written request, with sufficient detail to enable Allure to identify the individual and the personal information being sought, Allure will inform an individual of the existence, use and disclosure of his or her personal information under Allure’s control and will provide access to that information, unless otherwise prohibited or permitted by law. Allure will respond to all requests within 30 days. Allure may extend the time limit for a further 30 days, or, for a longer period, with the Privacy Commissioner’s permission or as otherwise permitted by law.

Upon written request, an individual may request Allure to correct an error or omission in the personal information that is under Allure’s control. If Allure is satisfied on reasonable grounds that a correction should be made, it will amend the information as requested as soon as reasonably possible, and it will send the corrected information to each organization to which it has disclosed that information during the year prior to the date of correction.

9. Challenging Compliance

An individual may direct a complaint concerning compliance with the Policy to Allure’s Privacy Officer.

The complaint must be in writing. Within a reasonable time of receipt of the complaint, the Privacy Officer will conduct an investigation into the compliant. The format of this investigation will vary depending on the circumstances and may or may not involve an interview of the complainant and/or Allure employees conduct by the Privacy Officer.

Within a reasonable time of conclusion of the investigation, the Privacy Officer will inform the complainant, either verbally or in writing, that the complaint is either: (a) denied (if, in the Privacy Officer’s opinion, it has no merit): or (b) allowed (if, in the Privacy Officer’s opinion, the complaint is valid).

If the Privacy Officer allows the complaint, Allure will take appropriate measure necessary to rectify the source of the complaint.

10. Removing Display/Advertisements from Your Device

Option A

Go to the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) “Opt Out of Interest-Based Advertising” webpage. Their site will scan your computer/device for any 3rd party display or advertisements. A list of any 3rd party ads will then be populated and from there you can select the checkboxes next to the ads that you would like to remove. This ensures that advertisements will not come back to your computer/device as it is not registered to receive them. Note, the NAI website is not associated with Allure.

Option B

Manually access the cache and cookies of your browser and clear them. You will need to CLEAR ALL to remove all 3rd party display advertisements.

11. Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

In order to achieve the goals of Canadian anti-spam legislation, Allure will ensure to act in compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. To ensure compliance, commercial electronic messages (including email marketing) will be based on an “Opt-In” approach. Allure will gain consent for commercial electronic messages purposes prior to sending commercial messages (including emails), unless Allure has a pre-existing business relationship with you, or you are candidate, as in these particular cases consent is considered to be implied. Should Allure require personal information for a new purpose, Allure will contact you to seek consent for that new use. Individuals that “Opt-Out” from receiving emails from Allure will be unsubscribed upon request.

12. No Reliance

The information contained on the Allure website is intended solely to provide general guidance on matters of interest for the personal use of the reader, who accepts full responsibility for its use.

The information, postings, materials and other content on the Allure website are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without any warranties or representations, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Reasonable care has been taken to ensure that the site content is accurate and up to date; however, Allure makes no warranties or representations about the accuracy or completeness of the site content. Nothing herein shall to any extent substitute for the independent investigations and the sound technical and business judgement of the reader. Allure shall not be liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect or punitive damages arising out of access to or use of any content on this site, regardless of the accuracy or completeness of any such content.

13. The Information Allure Collects

Allure is a real estate development company that undertakes a variety of activities related to the promotion, sale and leasing of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Allure collects a variety of personal data, which may include your resume, necessary related to the services Allure provides and your interest in the company and its services. By choosing to enter your personal information on any Allure website or platform, you are indicating your willingness to disclose this information to Allure, and for Allure to make reasonable use of the information in compliance with the Allure privacy policy.

14. Consent

If you have voluntarily provided personally identifiable information, including but not limited to, your name, title, phone number, or email address (business or personal), you have assumed an implied business relationship with Allure and therefore consented to the collection, use and disclosure of your personally identifiable information as described in this privacy policy. Allure will not use personally identifiable information for any purpose outside of the implied business relationship.

15. Retention of Your Personal Information

Allure will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected and to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Your consent to such purposes(s) will remain valid after termination of your relationship with Allure and Allure will retain your information in its database for future consideration.

16. How Allure Uses and Discloses Personally Identifying Information

The information that Allure collects on your career and personal background is for the sole purpose of professional placement.

Information obtained by Allure websites is used only for the intended purposes stated at the time that the information is collected. No notification and choice will be sought if Allure is compelled or required by applicable law, statute, regulation, ordinance, or court order to disclose personal data.

Nothing contained in this Privacy Policy is intended to create a contract or agreement between Allure and any user visiting an Allure website or providing identifying information in any form. If you have any questions about your personal information, please contact the Allure Privacy Officer.

Allure Corp is committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding the personal information provided to Allure. Allure protects and uses your information by observing the principles and guidelines in the Personal Information Protection and Electronics Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Law (CASL) effective July 1, 2014.

17. Cookies

Allure uses cookies as part of the Allure websites, to remember users’ settings (e.g. language preference), for authentication. Users can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. If you reject cookies, you may still use the Allure websites, but your ability to use some features or areas of may be limited.

We partner with third-parties to either display advertising on Allure websites or to manage Allure advertising on other sites. Third-party partners may use technologies such as cookies to gather information about your activities on Allure websites and other websites in to provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests.

Allure uses pixels, or transparent GIF files, to establish which of its online adverts successfully bring people to our Allure websites. The GIF files are provided by third parties who provide Allure with online advertising analysis. This system places a cookie on your browser when you enter an Allure website. Cookies are used to save information such as items you have visited the site. The information collected on Allures behalf is anonymous and does not personally identify you. The information does not contain your name, address, telephone number or your email address. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can change your browser to reject them. Even without a cookie you can still use Allure websites.
